Job Description

The successful candidate will be joining NBCUniversal at an exciting time where it is transforming from an operational, tool-based cyber defense program to an intelligence and threat-based organisation. The Vulnerability Management team is no different; growing and transforming to a service offering for the entire company and partnering with the rest of the Cyber Security organisation to shape the future of cyber defenses at NBCUniversal.

The successful candidate will be expected to ‘think like an adversary’, pulling from their diverse background and knowledge of IT, to identify, assess, prioritise and communicate vulnerabilities and threats across the systems and applications making up the NBCUniversal IT ecosystem.

This position is a remote position.

Primary responsibility will be to support the Vulnerability Management Team at NBCUniversal within the Operations Group.

Operational responsibilities will include the following:

• Monitoring the Vulnerability Management mailbox for customer requests.
• Using ServiceNow and XSOAR Ticketing tool to create tickets for all customer requests and track work.
• Configuring Vulnerability Management scans based on customer requirements and procedures.
• Leveraging Power BI as our Reporting Solution.
• Configuring and executing validation scans.
• Maintain operational health and readiness of Qualys scanners, Agents, and Qualys Gateway Appliances.
• Monitoring, troubleshooting, and updating the Qualys Cloud agent.
• Liaison with the businesses around onboarding, scanning, remediation, and troubleshooting.
• Support the cyber incident response team in specified vulnerability discovery and identification tasks during crisis management.
• Identify and articulate risks and remediation in a relevant and approachable manner with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and application owners on security hot-fixes or patch validation.

Qualifications

Required Skillset:

• Experience with managing endpoint agents on an enterprise scale.
• Proficiency in network principles and tools encompassing TCP/IP, Routing, Netmask, and firewall logs.
• Research of vulnerabilities in software, firmware and devices, and modern exploits and exploitation techniques in the following areas: Microsoft platform (Server, workstation, applications), Open Systems platforms (Linux, UNIX, VMware ESX), Java, Adobe, Web Application, Java web app virtualisation platforms (e.g. WebSphere), Networking, Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, IMS), and others.
• Familiar with publicly and privately announced security vulnerabilities and the ability to determine the risk or likelihood of impact from these vulnerabilities.
• Understand the cyber-attack chain.
• Ability to consult on appropriate measures to remediate vulnerabilities and reduce potential risks and impacts.
• Experience with service ownership and driving continuous improvements.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in either Vulnerability Management or related Cyber Security field or 12 years of IT related experience.
• Experience in threat, vulnerability, or patch management.
• Familiar with industry standard security best practices and vulnerability management processes including governance and compliance.
• Advanced experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Qualys, Nessus, Rapid 7).
• Demonstrate knowledge of networking concepts and devices (Firewalls, Routers, Switches, and Load Balancers).
• Demonstrate an understanding of network and web related protocols (such as, TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols/NMAP).
• Experience developing operational metrics to measure service delivery.
• Basic understanding of Web Application Security.
