Working within our risk team, the role involves facilitating the Technology Risk Framework across our engineering community and to support them in optimising the management of risks. As a risk professional you’ll collaborate with colleagues on risk management activities by identifying threats, helping to analyse them, challenge their management, and ensure risk reporting is performed within the governance framework. This role also requires you to review the risk portfolio and identify thematic trends, in order to prepare and present reports for senior leadership committees.

Additionally, the role will involve coordinating and hosting local risk forums to provide robust challenge and governance of the IT risks, allowing appropriate owners to take accountability of their risks and mitigating activities. This role will also provide representation at business risk committees and occasionally provide briefs covering the IT resilience position.

PSP is also accountable for the effective governance of 8 Critical Business Processes and Important Business Services. It will be your job to understand the end-to-end customer journeys, the applications involved and their resilience; control testing is key to this.

Furthermore, we would like you to understand the UK Payments industry, have some IT technical competence & knowledge of IT change. There will be times when robust challenge is required and knowing the environment will help. Don’t worry though, if you have the risk management experience and excel within a Team environment, we will mentor you to be your best and give you the skill set to confidently operate within our Platform.

Can you demonstrate experience and qualities to?

Facilitate and develop operational risk management frameworks. Coordinate IT resiliency reviews and be able to articulate the risk position for various critical processes. Experience of facilitating risk identification workshops ensuring emerging threats to the operating environment are identified. Strong communication and engagement skills. The role requires confidence to engage with and challenge a wide range of colleagues, including senior decision makers. Sound analytical ability to identify thematic risks and issues, understand root cause and propose solutions through story telling. Confidence with using risk data to help influence investment management and risk remediation. A strong team ethos that encourages diversity. IT Knowledge and the ability to learn technical subject matter; we frequently converse in technical discussions, and your job will be to simplify complex technical problems. Experience with using application and risk management software, along with tools such as Power BI and similar. An understanding into how the payments industry works and knowledge of the regulators. Experience of operating within a business area with a sizeable application portfolio and the advantages of using risk-based decision making.
