Greenpeace
Greenpeace is an international non-profit global campaigning organisation. Our independence and global reach enable us to stand for positive change through action in order to defend nature and promote peace. We investigate and expose global environmental problems, confront those in positions of power and present alternative solutions. This Supporter Care Officer role is a fantastic opportunity to keep us in touch with our supporters – using all your organisational and customer/supporter service skills and, crucially, your ability to see things from the perspective of people from different backgrounds. You’ll provide an excellent, inspiring and personalised service to supporters and members of the public who contact the team by email, social media, telephone and post. You’ll be expected to answer high volumes of questions and comments about a wide range of topics, from Greenpeace’s campaigns and environmental concerns to routine administrative and donation enquiries. In doing so, you’ll need to write engaging, personalised replies, as well as informative and inspirational copy to answer regularly asked campaign questions. In addition to handling email communication, you’ll moderate posts across all social media channels, confidently answer phone enquiries and resolve complaints, support our anti-racism work, and play your part in sharing feedback across the organisation. Location: Islington, London. We are currently trialling a hybrid working model to enjoy the benefits of both office based and remote working. The current expectation is for staff to work from the office in Islington at least 40% of their time. Reasonable adjustments to the trial policy as well as specific office based needs will be considered for those with long term health conditions and disabilities. You’ll have: Experience in a customer or supporter service environment, with the ability to answer large volumes of public enquiries across all channels, particularly email. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and organise your own work, follow agreed work-plans and meet deadlines. Personal experience or background giving you the ability to connect with a wide range of people, particularly from underrepresented and marginalised groups. Experience in a busy, dynamic team with changing priorities, plus the ability to work cooperatively within a team to ensure a shared workload is completed. Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to write engaging responses to enquiries and to judge the appropriate tone and content. A genuine interest and enthusiasm for environmental issues and the work of Greenpeace and a passion for sharing this with our supporters. We give you: You’ll be encouraged to develop both personally and professionally, taking advantage of the wide range of learning and development opportunities available to our staff. We offer great benefits such as a generous pension scheme, subsidised lunches, free yoga and a wealth of well-being resources, just to name a few. Take a look at our Work for Greenpeace pages to find out more about what it’s like to work for us and why you should apply. Our commitment to diversity: At Greenpeace UK we are committed to advancing diversity, inclusion, equity and becoming anti-racist. We acknowledge that people from certain backgrounds are under-represented in environmental and campaigning organisations and want to do all we can to correct this. In particular, we want to be more representative of Britain’s diversity at senior levels of GPUK. If you have the skills we need and are a person of colour, disabled, LGBTQIA, non-binary, have a mental health condition, or if you identify as working class now or in the past, we would welcome an application from you.
