Railpen Limited
We have an exciting opportunity for a Solution Architect to join the Enterprise Architecture and Data Governance team based in either London or Darlington on a permanent basis (hybrid working). This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.
Who we are
Railpen is responsible for the safekeeping and investment of around £34 billion in assets and the administration of several pension schemes, including the Railways Pension Scheme, one of the UK’s largest and longest established pension funds.
Our heritage of looking after the pension needs of the rail industry and its employees gives us our name and our unique outlook on how we serve our members. Railpen takes a holistic view, focusing on how we serve members today and how we can positively impact the communities and the world they will retire into.
The role
This role will be responsible for designing and implementing robust, scalable, and secure solutions that align with the company’s strategic objectives. You will drive and promote architectural principles, policies and standards across both technology and the business. As the Solution Architect, you will ensure the company Blueprint is kept up to date and to the standards set.
Reporting into the Enterprise Architect, this role will work closely with business stakeholders, enterprise architects and engineering teams to ensure that solutions meet both current and future needs.
The person
We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect who can demonstrate an extensive understanding of architectural frameworks and best practices. Hands-on experience with cloud technologies and modern software development practices is essential. You will have experience of working with industry standard Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF. As an SME, you will have expertise in providing a strategic view across all architectural domains, portfolios, and programmes. It would be a distinct advantage if you had experience of using the Bizzdesign Enterprise Studio and Horizzon toolset, however this isn’t essential.
As a Solution Architect, you will be an effective communicator who is able to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders at all levels across the organisation. You will demonstrate technical expertise, and the ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. You will have the ability to identify potential architectural risks and articulate innovative mitigations.
