This innovative and fast-paced Global brand is going through considerable growth and is looking for a Software Category Manager to join this new greenfield Procurement Team

We are looking for an IT Software Procurement Category Manager who can support the new Head of Procurement to successfully deliver a procurement service, including implementing the right level of policy and process. They are currently implementing a variety of new projects to support their growth.

The ideal candidate needs to be able to work with colleagues, supporting them in sourcing what they need in a timely and professional manner. We will be working hard to lay the foundations and develop the function to enable the business to build confidence and trust in the team. The right candidate will be someone who is prepared to roll up their sleeves and get the work done.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Supporting the Head of Procurement in developing the IT procurement capability and provide support when required on all aspects of indirect procurement.
• Leading negotiations and reviewing software licence and professional services agreements, utilising the internal legal team and the procurement analysts in region.
• Developing and managing an end-to-end S/W asset management process and managing software licence and SaaS renewals.
• Build and manage reporting of the AWS costs, ensuring they consistently maximise the value of the AWS agreement and minimise exposure to unnecessary costs.
• Identify cost savings and cost avoidance opportunities, effectively challenging the status quo.
• Bringing new ideas and innovation and thought leadership to our work.
• Executing short-term (tactical) and long-term (strategic) plans.
• Managing the end-to-end user experience of procuring software and professional services.

You will have excellent knowledge of the Software procurement process, with 5+ years’ experience of software procurement in a medium sized, fast paced and agile business, ideally within the financial services space:

• Previous experience in a software procurement category manager position, or ready to now move into such a role.
• Demonstrable experience and understanding of software licensing and commercial transactions in order to assess and influence deal structures.
• Excellent strategic thinker with analytical and financial modelling skills.
• Strong understanding of S/W procurement, different business models, product positioning, and market trends.
• Ability to review, comment and negotiate effectively on software licence agreements working closely with an in-house legal team.
• Strong understanding of AWS’s technology services and active experience of Private Pricing Agreements and Savings Plans.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Azure, M365 licensing and its billing.
• Strong problem-solving ability, and practical experience in delivering complex solutions in a fast-moving business landscape.
• Highly articulate and effective communicator who can convey important messages in a clear and compelling manner at all levels of the organisation.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced business environment and working under your own initiative.
• Experience working in a small, high-impact team with the ability to take on all tasks within the procurement and software asset management process.

This is a hybrid role with 3 days working in the office near Victoria station, 2 from home.
