Software Environment Engineer – Remote Working (Telford Base)

Due to rapid growth, CapGemini UK have a great opportunity for A Software/Environment Engineer to join it’s Microsoft Delivery Centre.
The Software/Environment Engineer will work within a multi-disciplined engineering team and will be involved in development of new products and maintenance of existing products.

Your Role
The daily responsibilities of the Software Environment Engineer will be to:
* Carry out development in accordance with the agreed requirements and development standards.
* Support of existing products and services, both reactive and proactive.
* Testing of products in accordance with the test strategy to ensure that they are fit for purpose.
* Assisting team members in examining packages of work and giving realistic timescales for completion.
* Completion of work allocated within agreed time, cost and quality criteria and fully participating within an agile delivery environment.
* Management and control of problems and change within their area of responsibility, including negotiation with other teams as necessary.
* Prompt escalation of problems, issues and risks as necessary.
* Playing an active part in process improvement, awareness of and compliance with all relevant quality processes and procedures, including completion of all the specified quality records.
* Get involved in the administration and governance surrounding our virtualisation platform, Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Tooling.
Your Profile
Essential Experience of:
.Net, .NET Core, C#,
HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Vue.js
Bootstrap, RESTful API, PowerShell
ASP Net MVC 4 or above
SQL and SQL Server
Azure DevOps (including administration)
It would be advantageous if you had experience of:
Supporting services in a production environment, managing incidents, and resolving issues. These could be applications built by your team or 3rd party applications built by other suppliers
Microsoft Dynamics
Power Platform
ServiceNow
Experience of administration of virtualisation platforms (eg VMWare)
Knowledge of Agile methodology, OO Analysis & Design techniques
Awareness of Risk, Change & Problem Management
Awareness of Configuration Management
Awareness of testing best practice
Awareness of DevOps Pipelines and ALM
Awareness of MS Azure including automated deployment via Terraform scripts
Good written and verbal communication skills, problem solving and creativity skills, honesty and integrity, eagerness to learn, drive and energy, professional appearance.
