Snowflake Data Architect

£75,000 – £95,000 per annum + benefits

2 days per week in either Glasgow/London or Liverpool office and the rest of the days is remote.

Key responsibilities

Work closely with Solution Architects and transformation teams to design data solutions that support business processes, typically related to change projects.

Contribute to Solution Overview Documents as part of change initiatives.

Define the relevant logical and physical data models in alignment with the conceptual data model.

Define the relevant data integration models.

Collaborate with technical delivery leads on technology configuration and assist with key design decisions.

Ensure audit, compliance and security requirements are understood and reflected appropriately in the overall data architecture.

Ensure regulatory and security controls are known and applied including data privacy regulations (eg GDPR) and ensure that those are included in data architecture design decisions.

Support effective metadata management that is aligned with the data management standards.

Be a data champion, advocating how high quality data management and data architecture benefits the business.

Knowledge and skills required

Proven experience of working in a Data Architecture capacity, ideally in a similarly sized business, ideally with knowledge of EA and EIA frameworks.

Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts/theories for a variety of stakeholders.

Ability to analyse project, program and portfolio needs, as well as determine resources needed to meet objectives and solve problems that involve remote and elusive symptoms, often spanning multiple environments in a business area.

Confident at managing relationships and communicating technical issues and strategy at all levels

Experience with cloud data platforms, ideally SnowFlake
