What You’ll Do:

The Senior Systems Development Engineer is responsible for verifying and validating mission critical ground antennas for calibration and performance. This individual must be an experienced tester and will work as part of a team to develop calibration plans, run tests, quantify performance, lead troubleshooting efforts with internal and external teams, and provide technical leadership. This individual will assume an integral role in the satellite network portal (SNP) transition process, become an SME into the antenna HW/SW, and in supporting major program milestones. The candidate will have demonstrated the ability to work with minimal supervision and have experience working in an agile team environment.

The candidate should provide support to operations during normal working hours. The candidate may occasionally provide after-hours support for critical SNP operations or similar critical events. The Systems Development Engineer plays an integral role in the successful rollout of the OneWeb ground infrastructure.

Duties will include:

• Develop in-depth calibration plans for executing, verifying, and transitioning antennas into operations.
• Quantify, compare, and communicate antenna performance metrics measured against key performance indicators.
• Write test plans and test procedures for troubleshooting HW and SW components.
• Document test results and lessons learned.
• Work closely with stakeholders to meet strict deadlines for SNP transitioning.

WhatitTakes:

• 2-3 years’ experience executing and troubleshooting antenna calibration.
• 2-3 years’ experience with RCA and triage support.
• Experience writing test plans and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse set of engineering disciplines in an integrated and agile team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently when necessary.
• High level of problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to work in an environment with rapidly evolving system requirements.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

What We’d Love:

• Advanced Linux skills and experience testing AWS native applications
• SQL database experience is highly desirable
• High-level programming (Python) for data analysis helpful but not required
• Experience troubleshooting HW remotely utilizing on site support with varying levels on competency a bonus but not required.
• Ground operations experience is helpful, but not required.
• Bachelor of Science, BS in a Computer Science or Engineering related field, additional education and training through an advanced technical degree or continuous learning is highly desired.
