Prospectus is delighted to be recruiting for a Senior Strategic Communications Manager to join an impactful philanthropic initiative working to tackle the nature and climate crisis. This is a Maternity Cover Contract for a period of 12 months. Ideal start mid May 2023. This role can be undertaken fully remotely or out of the London office, with an expectation to be able to attend meetings in London occasionally. This is a stand-alone communications role with no line reports. The Senior Strategic Communications Manager will work collaboratively with staff and external partners to ensure key messages for the partners reach intended audiences with maximum impact. You will develop and implement strategic communications strategies for supporting partners, building key relationships with journalists and communication organisations, and support and advise grantees with their communications activities. The role will achieve clear, targeted and impactful communications and campaigns on behalf of the organisation and their many global grantees. You will be responsible for developing a strategic communications portfolio, ensuring this is designed to support and amplify the sectoral legal strategies. The successful candidate will be an experienced communications professional with a background in the climate/environmental sector. You will have an understanding of the philanthropy arena with a broad communications background both operationally (hands on) and strategically, and with a proven track record of developing innovative communications and campaign plans. You will be creative, with exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and will be politically astute, understanding the sensitivity needed to provide the right advice and guidance to partners.
