6 Month Contract – hybrid – Work for F1!

We’re looking for an experienced embedded electronics systems engineer to work for F1!

You will be working for a team that produce a wide range of bespoke solutions to support the timing, televising, and organisation of Formula 1 events!

The team architect and design embedded systems for F1 cars to provide team telemetry and driver/engineer audio, and to deliver on-board video and audio for F1 broadcasters and digital platforms.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, focus-driven engineer with a passion for all aspects of embedded electronics to complement the small and efficient team of systems, hardware, and embedded software engineers.

You will need to have a solid background in electronics engineering with experience in embedded system development with involvement in both hardware and embedded software design.

While this is not a core travelling role, you may need to attend F1 races to support products during the deployment and handover phases of the projects you work on.

Experience required:

• Strong background in the engineering domain, with experience in embedded systems development and support, especially full lifecycle
• Engineering design of products with electronic elements and components
• Architecting or assisting in the design of embedded systems
• Key areas of relevant skills include Python, C, Linux, and schematic capture/PCB design

Desirable:

Working with networking and serial protocols (e.g. Ethernet, CAN, RS232); video encoding (e.g. H264) and transmission protocols (e.g. MPEG TS); and RF systems

• Integration of embedded software with digital or analogue hardware
• Developing for an RTOS (such as QNX)
• Linux kernel driver development
• Using MATLAB and Simulink
• Development with the Xilinx MPSoC family
