Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Python/Bash)

£80,000 – £90,000 + Annual Bonus

A globally recognised Powerhouse of a bank with over 30,000 employees worldwide is currently looking to extend the cloud engineer team who are responsible for their brand new payment platform. They are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps engineer with a strong skill set in AWS to join its world class technology team. This role is ideal for someone who has 5+ years of experience within the cloud engineering space using AWS, along with being a true mentor to the more junior engineers within the team.

Aside from being a figure head in the building of a revolutionary payment product, you will be the go to engineer in the development of AWS services, supported by a lead DevOps engineer who has over 20 year’s experience across engineering with a diverse portfolio of architecting banking platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Able to take a lead on projects within a fast-paced environment.
• The opportunity to take on leading a small team within the next 12 months.
• Enabling cloud scalability within AWS, by maintaining and building new features.
• Building and maintaining CI/CD Pipelines using Jenkins.
• Ensuring deployment and releases are time efficient and quality efficient. Working with testing, software development and product teams.
• Heavily involved in Continuous integration, automation, Scripting, Infrastructure as Code, and Containerisation.
• Work closely with the development and operations teams to ensure cloud services (AWS), run smoothly.

Skills Required:

• Strong exposure to AWS services such as EC2, VPC, Route53, Auto scaling groups, CloudWatch, IAM (5+ years).
• Experience with configuration management tools such as ansible.
• Strong skills in building infrastructure using either Terraform or CloudFormation
• Strong Linux skills (Ubuntu, Debian etc.).
• Experience of using Docker for containerisation purposes.
• Strong experience of building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using the likes of GitLab, Jenkins, CircleCI, CodeBuild etc.
• Familiarity with Scripting (Bash or Python).
• Monitoring and alerting tools – Prometheus, Grafana or Splunk, ELK.
