About the Role
From high energy density batteries to water electrolysers and biomedical sensors, electrochemistry is the fundamental science that underpins many of the technologies driving us towards an environmentally conscious and prosperous future. Development of these critical technologies relies on high quality electrochemical measurements, generating accurate and reproducible data. As world leaders in electrochemical metrology (the science of electrochemical measurement) NPL’s Electrochemistry Group works with world-leading academic groups and industrial partners to support fundamental scientific developments and solve real-world technology challenges.
As Senior Delivery Manager, you’ll liaise closely with team members to ensure the group’s portfolio of products and services delivers to expectations and that every opportunity is realised – including identifying improvements and opportunities for continued growth. You’ll take a holistic view of the products and services within your portfolio – to check that we’re maximising every opportunity and that everything’s being delivered as it should be. Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders will be essential.
You will have some line management responsibilities – motivating staff, carrying out reviews and developing their potential and encouraging them to work together and model NPL’s values. There is also scope for the role to develop into one which helps to identify and win new opportunities.

About You
You will need to be an experienced Delivery Manager. So, a proven background of delivering complex business and technical projects using internal and external suppliers is essential. A natural leader, you must have experience of managing people, which means you’ll need superb communication, organisation and influencing skills. Beyond that, we’re looking for someone who’ll thrive in an environment like ours. At NPL we learn from each other, respect each other and work together to do better. For ourselves and for our customers. And whilst we’re always looking to stretch beyond what we know; we don’t make things more complicated when there’s no need.
