If you’re interested in working for Cancer Grand Challenges, at Cancer Research UK, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Content and Communications Manager. What will I be doing? The Senior Content and Communications Manager for Cancer Grand Challenges will shape and deliver compelling content that will bring the brand, reputation, and profile to life with key stakeholders and public audiences (researchers, donors, funding partners, people affected by cancer). Using your knowledge of cancer research and the scientific community, you will develop and deliver a pipeline of engaging research stories, commentary, and features across a range of digital channels. Key duties include: Develop and deliver a programme of engaging research focused content Produce and commission digital content that engages the Cancer Grand Challenges research community, celebrates our successes, and positions Cancer Grand Challenges as a thought leader in cancer research. Produce long and short form written content for campaigns, website and social channels Collaborating with other marketing and communications professionals to develop and deliver the content pipeline for our key communications outlets and platforms (website, blog, newsletters, social media platforms, etc.) Driving innovation and continuous evaluation of content formats and dissemination strategies, including testing new channels and approaches to reach audiences Develop and deliver proposals to increase the global reach and profile of Cancer Grand Challenges, helping to position the initiative as a leading global research initiative Manage suppliers and freelancers What skills are we looking for? Proven ability to communicate science and research to researcher audiences Excellent copywriting skills Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong attention to detail The ability to interpret and explain complex information with a creative flair Extensive experience identifying, commissioning and editing compelling stories A basic understanding of science, particularly biology, and relevant experience of translating science content for multiple audiences Experience in developing digital content strategy, commissioning and production with a passion for online media and a desire to use new communications technologies Experience of managing projects, with ability to develop and deliver complex plans and deliver multiple tasks to competing deadlines Experience of building relationships with stakeholders internally and externally What will I gain?
