Spotify – Python Developer

We are looking for 2 Python developers that will join the Products and Orders product area, which owns some of the Back Office systems within the Spotify Commerce Platform, “subscription engine” being one of them. You will work with “subscriptions” and related systems, helping us deliver our quarterly commitments as well as contribute to the long term improvements of the architecture. Above all, your work will impact the way the world experiences music.

What you’ll do

– Work with the Python codebase that powers the subscription engine for “Spotify Premium” products.
– Deliver features that provide users a better “subscription” experience.
– Actively work to improve the tech stack and move it closer to desired state and company recommended tools.
– Modernise the system and infrastructure by moving to microservice and containerisation with Kubernetes.
– Help the system leverage GCP to its full potential.
– Location of this role will be UK(Remote) with options to come to the London office if an office based role is preferred, other members of the team are based across Europe.

Who you are

– You know to decouple monoliths into microservices
– You have commercial experience of Python and have used at least one cloud providers (GCP preferred)
– You have a deep understanding of microservices/distributed systems, transactional databases.
– You care about teamwork, quality and impact
– You have some experience of building and running containerized applications on Kubernetes.
