Network & Communications Analyst
£34,500 – £40,500 (1 Year FTC)
Hybrid Working (1-3 days a week in London based office)
Role Details:
Our client is in need of a Network and Communications Analyst to join their business for the next year on a Fixed-Term, Full-Time Contract (1 Year FTC)
This contract is critical to delivering the network related work streams under the Managed Service Rollout Project. due to the security element, with the ambition to eliminate the unmanaged/self-managed devices across the Faculty Schools and Institutes, this role is of high priority. The ultimate aim is to convert these devices to QM managed devices and actively promote and adapt QM managed service across the company. The successful candidate will ideally be part of the IT Services Network & Unified Communications Team, which comprises of up to nine specialist staff. This role is to work within the Network & Unified Communications Operations group to support and deliver an enterprise network, enabling the University to deliver on its ambitious strategic goals of excellence in research, teaching and learning.
Key Skills:
You will be able to manage and support key network hardware, including; 700 Cisco Catalyst 2960-X Switches and over 2000 Cisco 2700 wireless Access Points. You will also support DHCP & DNS services via an Infoblox appliances Grid and provides SSL certificate management on the University’s F5 Application Delivery Controllers. You (alongside your team) will work closely with the Network & Unified Communications Design and Delivery group to implement customer focused, robust, secure and reliable network infrastructure.
You will be responsible for the following.
You will manage network Requests and Incidents via Service Desk tools. You will be able to troubleshoot wired & wireless network issues. Complete the installation of temporary networks, for events & conferences. You will manage the deployment of wireless Access Points. Installation and Configuration of new and existing network switch stacks. Assisting with the implementation of standard changes to the University’s DHCP & DNS Services. Network monitoring applications (Including SolarWinds and Cisco Prime) maintenance.
