Reporting of the role

This role reports to Tech Lead.

Overview of job

The Commercial Technology team develop and maintain the products that drive the commercial revenues at Global for both the Radio and Outdoor parts of the business.

In this role, you will find yourself working closely with a suite of advertising planning and trading services in the commercial radio domain, developed predominately using .NET (both .NET 6 and .NET framework). You will own the technical lifecycle of these services, including the CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/ Terraform), running the service on AWS (combination of containerised services and VM’s), and monitoring / alerting in a production environment (Prometheus / Grafana).

In the first few months, you would have:

• Developed an understanding of development tools and processes.
• Worked with your new team to have delivered features and improvements to partners.
• Understand how the monitoring and alerting works for the platform.
• Developed an understanding of existing Build and Deployment pipelines
• A growing understanding of how the business works.
• Taken part and contributed to team agile ceremonies.

What you will need

The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:

• Proven experience of solving complex problems.
• Expertise in good coding disciplines including concurrency.
• Expertise in .Net Framework/ .Net core, networking/distributed systems, databases and other relevant tooling and libraries (such as Unity, Dapper, Entity Framework and graphQL). Although this role focuses on .Net, we use other languages too so a willingness to learn them would be encouraged.
• Experienced in writing well tested code, accounting for performance, security, maintainability, and supportability.
