This is an exciting opportunity for a knowledgeable Learning Technologist to join the Learning Team in The Royal College of Radiologists’ (RCR) Educational and Professional Practice Directorate. Our core function within the RCR is to deliver high-quality educational and learning activities, or products, each year. These are designed for (and in collaboration with) clinical radiologists and clinical oncologists at all stages of their career, working in locations across the globe. Within this role the Learning Technologist will work collaboratively with subject matter experts and internal colleagues to design and develop high quality CPD e-learning resources. You will also lead on the organisation of the RCR’s e-learning hub, developing effective processes to ensure excellent user experience and the smooth running of the system. What you’ll do: Plan, create and test high quality learning resources designed to deliver stated learning outcomes in a variety of formats and contribute to their evaluation Help shape source material into engaging and interactive modules Oversee the work of contractors and suppliers developing e-learning products to ensure that contractual requirements are met Lead the 3-year content review cycle on an annual basis, making appropriate adjustments and/or retiring content, in collaboration with the Learning Technology Coordinator and Learning Products Manager Keep up to date with industry trends and new learning innovations, sharing recommendations for how these might apply to the work of RCR Learning What you’ll need: Knowledge of educational principles, instructional design and best practice as applied to the online learning environment. Experience of designing, producing and editing online learning resources Experience in the creation of graphics and animations, performing mobile content updates, writing for the web, audio production and screencasts Excellent communication skills, both written and oral Clear and analytical thinker with the ability to exercise sound initiative, judgement and discretion and think through issues to offer practical solutions The Learning Technologist is a business critical role, if you are interested in using your skills and experience to help us in our ultimate aim of improving imaging and cancer care for all please find out more about the role, the RCR and instructions on how to apply in the candidate pack.
