About us
Here at CQC we make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and encourage care services to improve. And, in challenging times, this has never been more important. We have embarked on an ambitious programme of transformation to become a digitally enabled, insight-driven organisation, delivering world class regulation in health and social care in line with our new strategy. Becoming an insight-driven organisation is a critical component of our new operating model. We are looking for individuals who are caring, demonstrate integrity, work well as part of a team and always strive for excellence in everything they do. Your leadership will make a significant impact on our customer and colleague experience, and in turn help the lives of the millions of health and social care users.
Why this could be a great role for you .
Reporting to our Director of Data & Insight, this is about leading analyst teams to deliver pro-active insights that evidence areas of concern and opportunity across the health and social care sectors to shape new strategic priorities for CQC, delivered in a compelling way for senior and external audiences. The Strategic Insight function exists to deliver actionable analysis and insight to inform CQC strategic priorities and help us to be a forward-looking, data led regulator. It supports the organisation to make decisions about where we should focus and invest our resources. It is also vital in supporting CQC s Independent Voice providing the public and our stakeholders with independent analysis and expertise on the most important issues in the health and social care sectors.
The function works on fascinating projects tackling high priority topics and exploring trends across the health and social care sectors. These may include identifying inequalities in health care, understanding regional disparities, insights into access and people s experience of moving between services.
You ll establish, develop and lead this exciting and ambitious function to ensure data and insight is embedded into new organisation priorities and will oversee the team s relationship with CQC s Chief Inspectors.
CQC promotes flexibility and encourages a good work-life balance. This role is being offered as a job share position for 3 days per week, working alongside our existing Head of Strategic Insight, who is reducing their hours. It provides an opportunity to work flexibly, while enabling you to take on an influential senior leadership role.
What we can offer you
Your health and wellbeing are important to us and are supported through generous annual leave (starting at 27 days pro-rata and rising with service to 32.5days, plus 8 Bank Holidays), a cycle to work scheme, discounted gym vouchers and access to a free employee assistance service 24 hours a day. We also understand the importance of financial health and offer membership of the NHS pension scheme, contributing about 14% of basic salary. All of our Homeworkers are also kitted out with everything they need to comfortably work from home.
We want to support you to succeed and be your very best, with opportunities for training and development along with the support of experienced managers and mentors.
We want to make working for CQC a great experience for everyone, and to role model a diverse and representative culture. To support an inclusive environment where colleagues feel empowered to bring their whole self to work, we support a variety of staff networks, including the Race Equality Network, LGBT+ Equality Network, Carers Equality Network, Disability Equality Network and Gender Equality network.
What you will bring
You ll be an analytic leader with a proven background in leading quantitative and qualitative data analysis and have a track record of developing new and innovative approaches to meet a range of business aims, in close collaboration with your stakeholders.
As well as experience of leading teams and managing competing demands; it s vital that you ve a history of driving change, championing the importance of data, and can demonstrate your actionable insight has made a tangible difference in the real world.
In return, we offer flexible working and a range of valuable benefits. However, it s the challenge of helping health and care services be as safe, effective, compassionate and high-quality as can be that should interest you most.
