Infrastructure Support Engineer

London hybrid/other locations across the UK available

Salary £40,000 – £48,000

A well known arm of the government is looking for a Infrastructure Support Engineer to join our growing team. The Infrastructure Support Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our IT infrastructure, including Servers, networks, security systems, and databases.

Key responsibilities:

• Design, configure and maintain the BTP’s Servers, storage arrays, and other mission-critical systems
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise
• Manage and maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS
• Ensure the BTP’s security systems are up-to-date and aligned with industry best practices
• Assist in the development of disaster recovery plans and procedures
• Collaborate with other members of the IT team to implement new infrastructure projects
• Provide technical support to users across the organisation

Qualifications and skills:

• Strong experience with Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS
• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare or Hyper-V
• Familiarity with network infrastructure and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, etc.)
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery technologies such as Veeam or similar solutions
• Understanding of security concepts and technologies, including Firewalls, intrusion detection, and vulnerability management
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
