Proudly celebrating over 50 years and with a turnover of over £20 million, we provide invaluable care and support to over 7,500 people across the five London Boroughs of Bromley, Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark. Your new role We have an exciting new opportunity that has arisen for a data protection expert to come on board to help support and promote the importance of data protection throughout St Christopher’s. You will take the lead in identifying IG or DP risks, implementing solutions and new processes to help mitigate against these risks, and complete audits and reviews associated with information governance compliance requirements. You will have access to external expertise which you can draw upon when needed and will be supported by the ICT Director (SIRO) and Information Governance Committee at all times. Although the role falls within the IT department this is very much an independent role working across all departments, supporting and guiding staff through data protection issues, and to help everyone at St Christopher’s to understand the importance of meeting their data protection obligations, ensuring we are compliant with data protection laws. To succeed in this role You will have expert knowledge and application of compliance with UK and EU Data Protection (GDPR) (Data Mapping). You will bring significant experience of undertaking risk assessments and management, identifying information risks and advising on mitigation of that risk. You will be experienced in drafting, reviewing, maintaining policies, procedures, information security, risk and regulatory compliance awareness training. It is important that you have excellent communication skills with the ability to influence colleagues. You will have the ability to create and rollout training programs appropriate to the environment they are working in.
