We are currently hiring an Inbuilding RF Design Engineer who will be responsible for producing in-building system designs from initial requirements capture with the client to satisfactory submission of approved design reports. The full duties of the designer also include on-site design surveys, developing the most appropriate and cost-effective design using survey information and design experience, preparation of documentation and revision of the designs reviewed by the client. The successful candidate will have experience with traditional DAS for large venues and enterprise small cells.

The candidate will act as the main interface before the client. Under supervision of a senior member of the team, they will be expected to:

• Act professionally and in the best interests of the company at all times.
• Time manage both themself and any subordinate.
• Maintain good client relations.
• Regularly report through company platforms their expense sheets and timesheets.
• Take good care of company property and assets and keep them in good working condition.
• Make management aware of any training requirements outside of normal training.
• Provide estimated effort and resources required for particular tasks.
• Daily update to Design Manager on progress and raise issues swiftly.

The successful candidate will also be expected to carry out internal duties in the following areas:

• Request test equipment and materials required for site surveys.
• Prepare test equipment for surveys.
• Advise of any issues with test equipment and materials.
• To assist in the smooth running of the office, this may involve administration duties.
• To assist other departments as requested by the Head of Engineering and as may be necessary from time to time.
• Adapting to any new internal reporting system as required.
• Informing the Project Manager as and when any work is completed and needs invoicing.
• Familiarisation with all company documentation, policies, and procedures especially ISO procedures.
• Keep all project related documents up to date and on network drives, available for review by the Design Team members at all times.

Requirements

The successful candidate must have:

• Ability to communicate technical details to a non-technical audience as well as strong verbal skills in relation to dealing with clients.
• High degree of accuracy and organisation skills.
• Ability to adhere to pre-agreed timescales and SLAs.
• Ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications – including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Microsoft Project would be good but not essential.
• Clean driving licence.
• Ability to do walk tests whilst carrying test equipment.
• Good time planning.
