Head of Product
Salary from £50,606 to £58,505 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £65,157 pa inclusive of London allowance
This is a fixed-term, full-time appointment for 1 year (maternity cover)

LSE’s Communication Division leads and coordinates internal and external communications for the School and offers communication advice, training and support. The Head of Product leads the division’s Product Team, which is closely aligned with the division’s Digital Communications team. This role will line manage a Digital Product Lead (in post) and provide digital community of practice leadership alongside the Head of Digital Communications.
The Product Team currently owns development and maintenance of one existing digital product, Student Hub – LSE’s bespoke student app – along with associated responsibilities supporting and empowering its student and staff end users. In addition, and of high priority, is a new “intranet portal” initiative to connect the LSE community and create a joined-up user experience across various back-end systems. The LSE Portal is in the initiation/discovery phase, and the Head of Product (maternity cover) will serve as project executive. You will be part of an existing cross-functional project team and lead on the vision and direction, as well as ensuring the necessary steps to deliver a successful business case and to move to implementation in the latter half of 2024 if approved.
Common strands through both Portal and Student Hub work include looking comprehensively at how to support staff and student needs through our work; establishing internal credibility through reliable engagement, communication, and delivery; and developing our approach to creating successful digital products in the LSE environment that support the School’s 2030 strategic objectives. We aim to meet the needs and expectations of our users with digital products that enhance and streamline the organisational experience of being at LSE.
