This innovative and fast-paced Global brand is going through considerable growth and is looking for a Hardware Category Manager to join this new greenfield Procurement Team

We are looking for an IT Hardware Procurement Category Manager who can support the new Head of Procurement to successfully deliver a procurement service, including implementing the right level of policy and process. They are currently implementing a variety of new projects to support their growth and the ideal candidate needs to be able to work with colleagues, supporting them in sourcing what they need in a timely and professional manner. They will be working hard to lay the foundations and develop the function to enable the business to build confidence and trust in the team. The right candidate will be someone who is prepared to roll up their sleeves and get the work done.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting the Head of Procurement in developing the IT procurement capability and provide support when required on all aspects of indirect procurement.
• Leading negotiations and drafting contracts, utilising the internal legal team and procurement analysts in region.
• Developing and managing an end-to-end H/W asset management process.
• Developing and maximising relationships with our tier one suppliers and ensuring the client is aware of the latest technology options to support continuous growth.
• Identify cost savings and cost avoidance opportunities.
• Bringing new ideas and innovation and thought leadership to our work.
• Executing short-term (tactical) and long-term (strategic) plans.
• Managing the end-to-end user experience of procuring IT equipment and associated services.

Experience required:

• You will have excellent knowledge of the IT procurement process, with 8+ years’ experience of procurement in a medium sized, fast paced and agile business, ideally within the financial services space.
• Previous experience in an IT Procurement category manager position, or ready to now move into such a role.
• Demonstrable experience and understanding of legal and finance aspects of commercial transactions in order to assess and influence deal structures.
• Excellent strategic thinker with analytical and financial modelling skills.
• Strong understanding of hardware procurement, different business models, product positioning, technology, and market trends.
• Ability to review, draft, comment on and effectively negotiate agreements whilst working closely with an in-house legal team.
• Strong problem-solving ability, and practical experience in delivering complex solutions in a fast-moving business landscape.
• Highly articulate and effective communicator who can convey important messages in a clear and compelling manner at all levels of the organisation.
• Capable and effective commercial negotiator.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced business environment and working under your own initiative.
• Experience working in a small, high-impact team with the ability to take on all tasks within the procurement and hardware asset management process.

The role is office based 3 days a week near Victoria station.
