Guidewire Technical Lead

Our client, a large consultancy based in London, are looking to hire a Guidewire Technical lead on an initial 6 month contract.

£850 – £950 PD 6 month contract.

Fully remote or London based office if preferred.

Role Summary

The Guidewire Technical Lead will have a thorough understanding of Guidewire products with a specific skill set in Policy Center and Billing Center integrations on v8 and ideally on v10.

This role will work with internal teams and external customers to support the delivery of an upgrade from v8 to v10, into the GCP cloud.

The individual will be a Technical leader within the team and help develop GW skills and experience with other team members.

Role Responsibilities

• The role will work with internal customers/architects/Developers to support the upgrade programme with specific responsibility on integrations.
• Work with development teams to triage and resolve issues as they arise
• Support the DevOps team to ensure the upgraded software works as intended into its GCP home
• Represent Configuration & Integration resources and demand in planning sessions with a keen eye on delivery & quality.
• Responsible for Development skill assessments and making sure Developers are getting the proper feedback around the work that they are doing.

Competencies and Skills Needed

• 5yrs+ years of experience with Guidewire applications PC & BC
• 7 to 10 years of experience as a developer with experience of design and team-leading
• 5 years + experience in Guidewire integrations
• Previous GW product upgrade experience
• An understanding of the UK insurance business, an ability to talk to business analysts & SMEs in order to translate business requirements into system changes
• Working experience in Agile Teams
• Experience of either Azure DevOps or Git code repository manipulation
• Knowledge of cloud architecture, GCP ideally.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to drive the work forward, collaborating with the business and technical staff on a daily basis.
