Group Financial Controller Full Time

Cedar have exclusively partnered with a leading PE backed global technology business in their search for a Group Financial Controller. This role is primarily remote with occasional travel to the London office.

As this leading international business continues to grow from strength to strength they are seeking to hire an experienced controller to lead the financial accounting team to ensure robust reporting and internal controls are adhered too, and be an inspirational leader of the finance function while deputising for the Group FD.

Duties

• Responsible for the control of accurate and timely accounting for all group entities in line with corporate guidelines.
• Ensure concise, accurate, timely postings of all ledgers with all relevant supporting documentation within multiple legal entities.
• Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all ledgers within the Division. (AP, AR, GL, Tax), & work with other departments and teams’ members to resolve any queries.
• Consolidate and compile reporting for management in line with the month-end timetable
• Partner and support Divisional Managing Directors / Practice Leads on understanding of period results in conjunction with Commercial Finance Business Partner
• Ensure accurate and consistent posting of Journals and track KPI’s
• Identify and Support all process and/or system improvements across the company where finance is impacted
• Manage and deliver all monthly Group Reporting Schedules with the Management accountancy team.
• Own the master group schedules and ensure accurate and complete roll-over between periods.
• Ensure that monthly balance sheets and cash flows are produced and reconciled with supporting management information.

Annual Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance of all accounting standards (UK GAAP & IFRS), internal controls, policies and practices.
• Responsible for annual audit process with all queries and substantive testing requests and book all year end journals on a timely basis.
• Work with external advisers and stakeholders

Team

• Manage a team of accountants aligned with the Business Units and legal entities
• Ensure and provide regular individual & team reviews against targets and performance
• Manage, develop, and support team through clear structured objectives (SMART) and OKR’s which are aligned to corporate objectives.

Other

• Support and deputise for Group FD when required in running the entire core finance function.
• Involvement with group treasury matters
• Support preparation of tax and VAT returns
• Ensure cover for all responsibilities within the team.
• Develop and implement an effective group financial control and consolidation process
• Regulatory compliance – HMRC

The successful candidate with be a chartered accountant from a top 10 practice with extensive experience working in an international business in a senior group reporting role. Strong technical and leadership skills essential.
