Governance Manager – Permanent – Hybrid (1 day on site) – Leicester or London – £48,000 per annum A Governance Manager is required on a permanent basis to join a respected third sector organisation to ideally be based in Leicester, but could also be based from London to manage governance processes and provide sound legal and governance advice to the Board of Trustees and Senior Management Team. Your new roleAs Governance Manager you will report into the Head of Legal and Governance to support the provision of legal and governance services to the organisation. You will manage the governance processes for the Board of Trustees to ensure the timely submission of draft papers within deadline and to relevant standards and will attend and take minutes at board meetings as required. You will respond to queries from staff and trustees in relation to legal and governance issues and will advise accordingly. You will draft and review terms of reference of subcommittees and strategy boards and review and negotiate contracts including ensuring compliance with the scheme of delegation. You will ensure the organisations policies are up to date and will interpret and advise on the organisation Charter, Statutes and Rules. What you’ll need to succeedYou will be a qualified solicitor or legal executive with a proven track record of providing accurate legal advice. You will have taken minutes at board meetings and will have experience of drafting and reviewing terms and negotiating contracts to ensure compliance. You will have a good understanding of charity and company law and will be ICSA/CGI qualified.
