We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to join our Commercial Advisory team within our Digital & Risk Advisory Services ( D RAS) business as a Director providing services to companies across all sectors of the economy. Our people are specialists in their respective fields and have a proactive, flexible approach to helping businesses overcome the challenges they face. We aim to be as innovative and entrepreneurial as the companies we work with, 95 per cent of whom say they would recommend us.

Operating out of 8 locations across the UK, we cover all of the major business centres while offering local expertise to local firms. Our growing business now comprises approximately 200 people who are encouraged to be themselves, bringing personality and authenticity to our professional environment.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate a track record of high quality client delivery, building and developing excellent client relationships and helping to design innovative solutions to client challenges.

BDO is continuing to grow its Commercial Advisory capabilities . We are building a strong track record in the market of helping our clients manage third party risk and drive better outcomes from their relationships with suppliers, JV/alliance partners and customers alike – Our core service offerings bridge procurement, contract compliance and commercial risk , third party and supplier management through to supply chain and logistics .

Having delivered year-on-year growth of 59% last year and forecast growth of a further 67% this year we will be appointing a strong Director to join our team to take on a central role within the practice, with a focus on leading our more established contract , commercial and supplier management services whilst further build ing our service capabilities and client footprint across cost reduction and Government/Infrastructure .

As one of our Commercial Advisory specialists, you will be part of a team that offers global assurance and advisory services to a broad range of high-profile clients across key sectors including Natural Resources & Energy, Retail, Pharmaceuticals, Aerospace & Defence and the Public Sector.

We are looking for a high – performing professional, from industry or professional services (preferably both) , with a strong background in understanding all major areas of procurement, contract and commercial management, supplier/third party risk management and a demonstrable track record of delivering tangible value in these areas .

You’ll be someone with:

• A relevant qualification to the field of Commercial Advisory e.g. accounting, legal (note this role will not require the provision of legal advice), CIPS or IACCM
• A drive and appetite to develop new and existing services, and grow a market-leading Commercial Advisory practice covering discipline areas of Procurement, Contract Management, Customer/Revenue Management and Supply Chain
• Experience of managing and delivering projects across the contracting and commercial lifecycle, including procurement, negotiation, commercial management, contract and supplier management, supply chain risk, renegotiation and exit
• A collaborative mindset , where understanding the client’s business , where it needs support and bringing together the right people from across BDO to solve those challenges is embedded in your day to day behaviour
• Candidates will preferably have both professional services and industry experience
• Knowledge of operating across a range of client sectors and procurement/contract categories
• Thorough understanding of contract/supplier risk management best practice
