Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Digital Service Designer to join the Financial Dashboards Programme during its transition into the next phase of delivery.
Reporting to the Head of Service, you will be expected to contribute to the development of the product roadmap and help prioritise design efforts in alignment with business goals and user needs. You will be responsible for presenting design concepts and prototypes to stakeholders, and for working with the development team to ensure that the final product meets the desired user experience and functional requirements.
Key Responsibilities
. Designing and improving the end-to-end user journey to ensure the product meets the needs of users and stakeholders.
. Understanding the importance of Agile project delivery for digital projects in government and taking risks and learning from mistakes.
. Communicating effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, advocating for your team, and contributing to the work of the community. Having knowledge of the wider digital economy and making informed decisions based on user needs and available technology.
. Making excellent decisions and managing risks, and creating prototypes, both programs and physical outputs. Prototyping in code and understanding the limitations of Internet technology.
. Thinking strategically and determining patterns, standards, policies, roadmaps, and vision statements. Focusing on outcomes rather than solutions and activities.
. Focusing on users and identifying their needs based on evidence. Translating user stories and requirements into design concepts and prototypes and conducting user research and testing.
Essential experience, knowledge and skills
. Experience of working in the public sector
. Deep understanding of design principles and ability to quickly build on existing work to create a high-quality digital service
. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
. Detail-oriented and efficient, with a focus on quality and delivering high-quality design solutions
. Comfortable working in a dynamic, changing environment and able to adapt to ambiguity
. Solutions-focused and able to identify and implement improvements to user journeys and digital services
. Strong focus on evidence and user-centred design, with the ability to make data-driven design decisions
