Purpose of Position

Pantheon require a dedicated and passionate technical team leader to take ownership of the software engineering team. This opportunity is best suited for an individual wanting to make the step from lead developer into a role that will have complete oversight over all technical aspects of the software engineering function.

This role is focused primarily on ensuring all software is designed and developed in a sensible, modern and practical manner. It is of the utmost importance that the successful candidate brings a high degree of pride, discipline and passion into the team.

You will be expected to provide mentorship across the team ensuring the standard and experience in the team increases. You will also be expected to perform managerial tasks, including but not limited to resource and capacity management, strategic planning, and performance reviews.

The successful candidate will demonstrate an enthusiasm for technology, a flare for problem solving and as desire to share knowledge. Reporting into the Head of Architecture, you will collaborate in, and strongly influence, the overall technical direction of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure software engineering best practices are well established, communicated and followed.
• Enforce the use of, and adoption of good software design and engineering by drawing on your experience and by keeping up to date with movements in the industry.
• Oversee, guide and make technical decisions that are aligned with the broader IT landscape.
• Prevent, minimise and mitigate technical debt accrual across the software estate.
• Create a culture and build an environment where continuous improvement and learning is encouraged.
• Assist in task planning, estimation, scheduling, and staffing.
• Represent the team to stakeholders across the firm.

Knowledge and Experience Required

• Extensive experience building front-end and back-end web solutions.
• Experience designing and building internal and external API’s.
• Experience integrating with SaaS platforms.
• Experience working within agile development methodologies
• Expert in the use of Azure DevOps
• Experience with building Power Platform and Azure native solutions
• Practical and detailed experience of working with Azure based environments, .NET and AngularJS.
• A natural problem-solving attitude.
• Conversant with current industry trends.
• Comfortable with setting team priorities, and stakeholder engagement.
