  My client is looking for experienced Development Manager – Hosting to join their Digital Policing team based in Bow, East London.

  As the Development Manager you will be and is responsible for the service design, planning and introduction of Infrastructure service capabilities across a number of service areas, including Hybrid Cloud Hosting, SaaS, Platform Services Modernisation and Data Centre Services. In addition, the role is responsible for maximising the understanding, utility and value of the various agreements and contracts in the Hosting and Data Centre function within Core Infrastructure.

  The Development Manager will help to define technology and service roadmaps applicable for their speciality to support the Core Infrastructure Strategy and lead the migration from our current infrastructure architectures to a simplified, rationalised and consolidated services landscape, enabling future change to be delivered in a controlled, flexible and agile way.

  Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Exploit existing service and technology investments to maximise return on investment and deliver rationalised and consistent joined up technology solutions to deliver core infrastructure services.
• Identify technology risks (including cyber security) within their accountability and ensure affective mitigating controls are established with support of the security architecture and information assurance functions.
• Provide assurance alongside the SIAM Tower for the quality of deliverables produced by the other internal and external functions for all relevant services.
• Provide assurance alongside the SIAM Tower for the commercial aspects of the delivery of contracted services.
• Develop and maintain (guided by the MPS Technology Architecture function), the relevant technology roadmaps that align to business strategy, the technology blueprint and vendor roadmaps, promoting appropriate change/enhancements into the IT programme of work.

• Key skills:

• Commercially astute with strong technology knowledge across a broad range of infrastructure and technologies across Servers, Virtualisation, Storage, Networking, Disaster Recovery, cloud architectures and operating models
• Understanding of supplier management processes, complex performance management regimes and incentive mechanisms
• Exhibits ability to effectively communicate and report (verbal and written) to a broad variety of levels/audiences.
• Able to interact and effectively influence senior stakeholders with or without authority, building collaborative partnerships and taking ownership where appropriate.

• This is a temporary role for 6 months, working full-time, paying a day rate of up to £600 per day Umbrella (inside IR35) with a PAYE equivalent.

  Hybrid working arrangements are in place.

  You must hold current CTC national security vetting clearance or be willing to attain.
