Who we need:

We are now looking for a Junior Cybersecurity Threat Handler to join our Engineering and Technology Information Security team which will require the candidate to have a minimum of 5 years hands-on engineering and technology experience, preferably in Financial Services, or other tech field and 2 years experience analysing cybersecurity incidents. Experience using AWS security needed and knowledge of advanced of advanced cybersecurity threats such as ransomware.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a hands-on expert in cloud-based technologies with a focus on security, performance, and scalability.
• Act as an internal expert for technology and business groups, supporting the adoption of advanced Front End technologies.
• Build strong relationships with developers, technology teams, solution teams, and business application owners.
• Implement and enforce industry best practices.
• Develop and integrate innovative cloud technologies.
• Collaborate with technical experts, technology teams, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, CS, or a related technology field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of engineering and technology experience, preferably in Financial Services, Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience analysing cybersecurity incidents using frameworks like Cyber Kill Chain and MITRE ATT&CK.
• 2+ years of experience handling cybersecurity incidents throughout the incident life cycle, including detection, triage, containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Experience with AWS security, including IAM, KMS, and Network Infrastructure.
• Familiarity with AWS threat detection and logging services like GuardDuty and CloudTrail, and cloud SIEMs such as DataDog.
• Ability to liaise with SOC Analysts and Threat Hunters from Managed Detection and Response vendors.
• Knowledge of advanced cybersecurity threats such as Ransomware, including detection and mitigation strategies.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with limited supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective influencing and consensus-building abilities.
• Strategic problem-solving focus.
• Strong teaching, mentoring, and presentation skills.
• Experience working in heavily distributed environments.
• Consulting experience is a plus.
• Strong documentation skills and experience transferring knowledge to team members.
• Proven experience being on-call for support and maintenance issues, with the ability to troubleshoot independently.
• Ability to interact confidently with counterparts at all levels.
• Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
