We already know a lot about IQ. We are learning ever more about the value of emotional intelligence or EQ. But our knowledge of Mental Health is way behind where it needs to be, and without research it s just guesswork. We desperately need to improve our MQ! Through research into Mental Health, we can develop better treatments and preventions so that everyone can have a healthy MQ.
We champion and fund world-class research to transform the lives of everyone affected by a mental health condition. We strive to create a world where mental illness is better understood, diagnosed, treated and, maybe someday, prevented. Research is the first step towards making that a reality.
Job Purpose Summary:
By connecting scientists with supporters, together we strive to understand mental health, improve treatments and prevent mental illness.
As a copy writer you will be responsible for producing written content for different mediums and different audiences. Translating MQ s research outputs into layman s terms for the public, producing fundraising materials and engaging content for our web and social channels as well as helping to produce reports, presentations, speeches and case studies.
You will be able to interview MQ ambassadors to sensitively tell their stories, work with MQ research grant holders to share their work with MQ supporters and write engaging materials that will help to grow MQ s audience.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce written materials for the MQ website including personal stories from people with lived experience, summaries and explanations of MQ s research and project pages.
Produce progress reports and write ups of MQ s research projects that can be shared with different audiences (For example High value donors, the public and other funders)
Produce the charities annual report, as well as a mid-year progress report.
Work with the senior content producer to write e-mails for MQ s subscribers, including the fortnightly e-newsletter, quarterly e-mails to specified audiences and regular fundraising and campaign e-mails.
Work with the senior content producer to create engaging social media posts.
Produce press releases and liaise with other organisations comms teams as necessary
Write speeches for the CEO, Chairman, Ambassadors etc
Produce campaign specific materials
Any other tasks as necessary and as agreed with your line manager
The post holder will also
Contribute to achieving the overall objectives of MQ and participate in the development of its new organisational strategy.
Provide other support to the Philanthropy, Finance and Research team and MQ as required
