Role: Contract Python Engineer
Term: 6 months
Rate: £500 – £525 a day
IR35: Inside IR35
Location: Fully Remote

Our client is seeking a skilled and passionate Python Engineer to join their team for an initial 6-month contract with potential for extension. As a key member of the development team, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing a new application, utilising your expertise in Python, AWS, React, Typescript, Microservices, and Django.

The client is a B2B company who guide their clients on how to optimise their properties and achieve sustainability goals through cutting-edge IoT technology. By instrumenting buildings with sensors and providing data-driven insights, who then help customers make informed decisions about energy, space and utilisation.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build and develop the Back End application in Python
• Be responsible for the platform that integrates with the 3rd party IoT sensors which are installed into the buildings and be able to stream data into the clients platform.
• Convert the stream of data from the sensors into actionable tasks for our users.
• Build a flexible reporting tool
• Good awareness of SQL
• Build a new React UI, architecting a React application using best practices
• Work with Design to build a compelling user experience that will allow the platform’s users to visualise their buildings, and the spaces within buildings.
• Good understanding of automated testing and associated working practices (Unit, Integration, E2E)
• Reusing or rewriting UI components – make critical assessments of the existing code and reuse where you can, to accelerate delivery.
