The Talent Set are excited to be working with The National Lottery Community Fund (NLCF) to find their new Business Analyst. The National Lottery Community Fund offers a lovely flexible working pattern, with remote home-working and an expectation of being in their London Office 1 day a week. As Business Analyst you will be the first dedicated resource to provide insights based on the relevant data from across the National Lottery distributors to better harmonize our business intelligence and start to tell our story through the measurement of our impact and data outcomes across the whole of the UK. Key responsibilities: Be instrumental in making our grant-making data a fundamental part of our external narrative to influence key audiences by finding innovative and interesting ways to communicate the depth and scale of National Lottery investment across the four areas of National Lottery funding – the arts, sport, heritage, and community Ensure we are working to a consistent data baseline and identifying what is important to measure and what is essential to communicate to consumer and stakeholder audiences. Day-to-day responsibility for data analysis as part of a small, highly performing, NLPU team, which is the principal communication agency for National Lottery good cause story telling. Work alongside a new Data Journalist and the lead data specialists from across the National Lottery family to create an authoritative voice for the integrity, consistency, accuracy, of National Lottery data and proof points. Lead the interpretation and interrogation of the data output of the National Lottery Family. As well as access to the best data sources and tools, from across the National Lottery’s family of distributors, you will also ensure the DCMS National Lottery database provides relevant and consistent open data. Provide key messages, through for instance geographic or thematic breakdowns, to convey both the depth and breadth of National Lottery investment. Interpret the data and information requirements of internal and, in time, external stakeholders, and to support and develop your team accordingly. Person Specification: Experience of running a customer-facing operation to help you prioritise and think clearly under pressure Experienced in interpreting user requirements and turning these into information products, including visualisations Familiar and comfortable with developing meaningful and robust information from sampling and partial/incomplete data, while understanding the boundaries and limitations of these statistical techniques A good awareness of best practice in data analysis/ segmentation Experience of project/ functional budgetary management Experience of working to Service Level Agreements, including escalation thresholds and procedures Comprehensive understanding of the sources of external data, and how they are applied as context for our work To be considered for this position please apply with your CV as soon as possible, regrettably please note we may not be able to reply to each and every application.
