Note: Successful candidates will need to undergo security clearance and must have lived in the UK for at least 5 consecutive years.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Data Architect to join our expanding Data & AI team. In this role, you will collaborate with architects and consultants to deliver high-quality data solutions that empower our clients to become data-driven organizations. You will oversee the planning, design, and implementation of Microsoft Azure data services throughout the project lifecycle, from presales to operational handover.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement cloud-based data platforms using Azure services, including Azure Databricks, SQL Database, Data Lake Storage, Synapse, Cosmos DB, Data Factory, and Blob Storage.
• Build conceptual, logical, and physical data models optimized for analytics.
• Define data architecture frameworks, standards, and principles.
• Map data from source to target, establishing current and future states based on business requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to team members.
• Ensure technical readiness, scalability, and quality assurance of final deliverables.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and facilitate discussions within multidisciplinary teams.

About You:

• Extensive experience in modern data platform architecture, including Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, and Dimensional Modeling.
• Strong understanding of data management principles, including Governance, Quality, Master Data Management, and Compliance.
• Proficient in Azure Data Services, SQL, and Azure infrastructure.
• Familiar with modern reporting platforms and capable of explaining complex problems simply.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture Frameworks.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps Pipelines and Apache Spark.
• Experience with on-premises Microsoft data solutions (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS).
• Relevant certifications (Azure Architect Expert and/or TOGAF Practitioner) are a plus.
