Role: Assurance Coordinator – SC Cleared

Location: Glasgow – preferred location/other office in London, but must be able to travel to Glasgow if required. 3-4 days per week in the office, however HM flexible

IR35: Inside

Rate: £400/day (Umbrella)

Duration: 4 Months initially

Security Clearance: SC & UK nationality

KEY SKILLS:

• Understanding of controls and assurance
• Prior experience of managing information
• Working with spreadsheets and information in data base
• Working with others – stakeholder engagement
• Data analysis skills

The post holder will be responsible for:

• Coordinating the Management Assurance Process, and in conjunction with the team leader, analyse UK directorates and overseas posts’ returns.
• Working with policy teams to embed assurance activities within 2nd line policy teams, and to agree key controls and assurance criteria to include in the end year MAP commission template/questionnaire.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with corporate and programme policy teams, DG and Directors’ outer offices to support teams to design and implement in-year assurance processes
• Maintain strong relationships with the directorate-level Assurance Lead community, communicating updates regularly and ensuring that the end year MAP commission lands well.
• Supporting the team leader to draft the Annual Assurance Report, and help present the findings to the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee, and supporting the development of the Accounting Officer Systems Statement (AOSS).
• Developing and delivering training and awareness and outreach activities for MAP stakeholders.
• Reviewing, improving, and building upon the control and assurance framework to continually drive standards of assurance and compliance up across the department,
