Application Support Engineer

Location: West Brompton, however the role will be remote to begin with

Temporary Position

Day Rate: Up to £400 DOE, role is outside of IR35 for 6 months

The Opportunity

I am seeking an Application Support Engineer to manage my clients in-house developed applications.

The role will actively carry out fault investigations and apply requisite skills to resolve, developing scripts for Linux and Windows operating systems, activating command line operations to start/stop services, and interrogating and reporting on log and audit files. The function supports applications that interface with other government partners such as CPS, TfL, the Home Office and international enforcement agencies.

• MS OS, MS Server, IIS, iOS
• Unix, Linux
• Applications/systems administration within large complex IT environments
• Agile development methodologies
• Application deployment, support and maintenance
• Strong knowledge of the software delivery lifecycle
• Testing
• In depth Civica gateway administration skills
• Expert NetMotion administration, log and analytics interpretation, server support capability
• 2+ years relevant experience in software support for service management
• Backup monitoring
• Availability and capacity planning
• In depth knowledge of using Call Management systems including ServiceNow systems;
• Knowledge of ITIL support processes and procedures;
• Broad knowledge of infrastructure installations for systems;
• Knowledge of MPS applications would be a distinct advantage
• Knowledge and use of Open Source development and management tools such as Jira/Confluence
