Actuarial Data Analyst – SQL, Power BI, Alteryx, Python, Excel

We are looking for a mathematically-minded Data Analyst for a top London Market specialty insurer. This role focuses on both hands-on data development work, along with business-serving data analysis. You will work within the Reserving team, collaborating closely with Actuaries, gaining significant business knowledge. The day-to-day activities will see you heavily using SQL for database support and development, Power BI integrations and other project-related requirements in Python.

The role is well-suited to an experienced Data professional who is well-versed in SQL development and is excited by the opportunity to learn about the inner workings for specialty insurance and actuarial processes. There are a great number of reports across the business which will need to be migrated/integrated into Power BI, along with future work utilising Python and Alteryx.

Responsibilities

• Support the organisation in ensuring underwriting profit, with your work directly impacting the business
• Coach colleagues and users through new reports you’ve developed
• SQL Database development, supporting close team and wider Reserving division
• Power BI data and report integration/migration
• Project-related Python and Alteryx requirements

Requirements

• Strong SQL and Excel ability
• Power BI report developing experience
• Excellent analytical skills with ability to communicate findings
• Python and Alteryx experience are very desirable
• Knowledge of Lloyd’s/London Market specialty insurance will be a significant advantage
